A Church with Open Hearts, Minds and Doors
OUR HEARTS ARE SHAPED:
- Believing the Bible is God's word to us and provides the information we need to know God and His plan for us.
- Believing that without help, we live separated from God. That situation is called sin and is more a condition of humanity than a series of immoral behaviors.
- Believing that God has made provision to get us out of that situation by giving us Jesus.
- Experiencing that God is present in Jesus, reconciling the world to himself.
- Believing that Jesus' life, teachings, death by crucifixion, and his resurrection from the dead is our means of "salvation" and our model for living.
- Deciding to accept this work of Christ and our commitment to Him that makes us right with God. We call that salvation by faith.
If you wish to discuss this further, please contact one our pastors or one of our other staff persons, or become involved in any one of the many small groups we have at Stout Memorial.
OUR MINDS ARE SHAPED BY VARIOUS EXPERIENCES:
- We are a Christ-centered church with a variety of worship styles. Our early morning worship service is informal but traditional with a more formal service at 10:45am. Our Wednesday evening worship service has a contemporary flavor.
- Worship experiences are at 8:15 am and 10:45 am, with Sunday School in between at 9:30am. Wednesday night's service begins at 6:15 pm.
- Our pastors work to make sermons that are truly relevant to your own struggle in life and to the issues of faith and spiritual life you may be dealing with.
- We have connectional ministries to help you get connected to the life of our church, including children and youth ministries, as well as adult study and growth opportunities.
- We are a growing church with an exciting future! We have just completed a new Ministry Center addition to accommodate our current growth and our future ministries.
OUR DOORS ARE OPEN TO RECEIVING NEW PEOPLE AND SENDING ALL PEOPLE INTO THE WORLD TO MINISTER.
To become a member...
- We assume you believe the same things listed in this document and have made a commitment to Jesus. We also assume that you will "uphold this congregation with your prayers, your presence, your gifts, and your service."
- In a first time commitment to Jesus, we would administer baptism and receive you by "Profession of Faith.”
- You may make a "Renewal of Faith" if you have been a member of a Christian church before and have been previously baptized.
- You may transfer membership from another United Methodist Church or another denomination.
- You may choose to become an "Affiliate Member" and retain your primary membership elsewhere.
Or, you may choose to attend and be involved in our church without formal membership. If so, you will be classified as a "Constituent" of our church and we welcome you heartily.
Stout Memorial considers itself to be a "seeker-sensitive" fellowship. This means that persons who come here will be at different points on their faith journey. We welcome that.
We offer an introductory course to Christian Faith several times each year – please contact (by phone or email) the church office to join in the next class!
We also offer a course called “Disciple Bible Study” 1 to 2 times a year for an in-depth understanding of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus!
We welcome involvement by all and if you are interested in service in the life of the church, please contact any of our staff persons and they will assist you.
OUR UMBRELLA OF CARE:
We care deeply about each person who comes to Stout Memorial. We want to help you grow in your relationship to Jesus Christ. We have prayer groups, prayer lists, and people of faith who can help you through a tough time, and staff people to help care for your needs as well.
Please let us know how we may serve you as ministers and servants of Jesus, the Lord and Savior!
