Backpack Ministry

God has opened our hearts and eyes to a situation happening right here in our community.

There are children in our community who rely on school breakfast and lunch for their main nourishment.   Once school lets out for the weekend, they may have nothing to eat until they return to school Monday morning.

We have been given the opportunity to help some of these children in need who attend a neighborhood school.  Our congregation has been providing backpacks of food which can easily be prepared by the children themselves and which provide nourishment to them on the days they are away from school.

Contributions of both food and money have come from the congregation, while a local business has donated backpacks.  Members shop, stock the food, inventory, pack backpacks and deliver them to the school.
