College Ministry
Adopt-A-College Student
Relationship. That’s what College Ministry is about and what better way to foster relationship than by adopting a college student through our new ministry. Through the Adopt-a-College Student ministry, families or individuals choose to adopt a student either attending a local college or receiving an education far from home. The College Ministry here at Stout is all about building relationships with our students and that’s what we’re looking for in our adoptive parents.
Ideas for adopting your student:
-
Have them over for a home-cooked meal
-
Provide your house as a haven from busy school life for the student to study or just chat
-
Find out when their tests are and pray for them
-
Write them letters or emails of encouragement
-
Provide a listening ear on the telephone
-
Send care packages their way
-
Most importantly, just being someone they can talk to about things that are going on in their lives, whether it’s their classes, fellow classmates, family, or their spiritual life. How involved you get is between you and your adopted student.
Care Packages for College Students
Back to school! We’ll be collecting care package items for college students from Sunday, September 11 – Sunday, September 18. Please take the opportunity to let our college students know you’re thinking of them by donating items to the box outside Pastor Chrissy’s door. Item suggestions include: candy, snacks, greeting cards, games, everyday essentials like office supplies, tissues, batteries or gift cards to Wendy’s, McDonald’s, etc. We have 20 students in college! Thank you for taking the time to support this ministry!
