Purpose and Mission:
The Purpose of the United Methodist Youth Organization is to make The United Methodist Church a community of mutual respect and understanding between youth and adults, where influence and worth are not limited by age or experience.
The Mission of the United Methodist Youth Organization is to respond to God's call as Disciples: Here and Now.
The core values of the United Methodist Youth Organization are:
- Compassion: Actively listen to issues and concerns of youth.
- Advocacy: Affirm and witness to the gifts and graces of youth.
- Partnership: Emphasize youth and adult unity in ministry.
- Outreach: Inspire youth to commit to meaningful service.
- Leadership: Serve as followers of Jesus Christ.
How Do I Join?
You can't really join: there are no dues, no sign-up forms. The Stout Memorial Youth Organization is a whole bunch of us with a dream that the church is transformed - and we are transformed - when United Methodist youth are disciples - here and now!
If you are a United Methodist youth you're already part of a huge network of youth that love God and follow the example of Jesus Christ. And of course, we include the many adults who are partners in ministry with us.
