Reflections on Finding Selah by Kristen Kill

Chapter 12
“Sabbath is not primarily about us or how it benefits us; it is about God, and how God forms us.”
"Did you know that the Bible uses the word satisfaction when it talks about the presence of God and manna?  Manna is the bread of presence, the only thing that fills us up."
We wonder how worship benefits us - why should I come to worship when I don't get anything from it?  Is worship about us?  Worship is about coming to honor God.  Sabbath is about us sacrificing time to show of allegiance to God.  Worship is about coming together as one body to give - to serve - to share love.  The result of our sacrifice is being fed the manna of God.
It's sort of like going to an event to show support for the one we love who is participating in the event.  While we are at the event we win a weeks supply of food.  We didn't go there expecting to win that is a bonus.
